Our first non-executive Children’s Board meeting

In 2013 the first Children’s non-executive board meeting was held. Watch the video below to find out more:

What did the Board achieve in 2013?

  • They helped us design patient information sheets, making sure that other children would be able to relate to the language.
  • They helped us change the way we prepare children and young people before they come to the Clinical Research Facility.
  • They helped us change the way we prepare rooms for children and young people on the day of their visit.
  • They helped us create brighter, more colourful child-friendly rooms.
  • They had a say in what toys, DVDs, games, books and other resources are available on the Clinical Research Facility.
  • They helped create photo stories about taking part in research which you can find below.
  • They came up with ideas about redesigning the website and making it better for children and young people.

Photo stories

With the help of our Children’s Board, we have produced these photo stories so that children and young people can see what it would be like to take part in one of our studies.
