Research Skills for Clinicians

A two-day course for Medical Trainees working in the East of England. The course is designed to help trainees meet curriculum requests on research skills and knowledge. To achieve this we deliver a carefully planned programme of lectures, practical exercises and worked examples in a stimulating and motivating format that has been commissioned by the East of England Multiprofessional Deanery. The programme is delivered by clinicians – all with expert and hands-on experience in the subjects they present / facilitate.

Introduction for Clinical Research Staff

A one-day course for non-medical healthcare professionals new to working in a clinical research role on the Cambridge NIHR Biomedical Research Centre campus.

Key components of the course:

  • Understanding and applying key concepts relevant to research ethics, incl. NRES approval, setting up a study, consenting and recruiting participants
  • Research Governance
  • Safety reporting
  • Data management & information governance in clinical research

This course is a joint initiative by the Cambridge University Hostpitals NHS FT Department for Research & Development, the NIHR Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre and the Addenbrooke’s Clinical Research Centre.
